Catering by SMG is able to cater functions at you home, place of work or a number of any other locations!
Full Service
Plastic plates, cups, service ware and disposable napkins are included in our catering prices. Glassware, china and silverware are available starting at $3 per person.
Linens, napkins and table skirting are available in a variety of colors at an additional charge. If linens, flatware, china, glassware, serving pieces and equipment need to be rented for your function, the charge will include our cost of rental, sales tax & service charge plus a $50 delivery fee. The client will be billed additionally for breakage and lost items once the outside vendor has settled invoices with SAVOR…Reading Catering by SMG.
Some venues may provide tables and chairs. If the venue does not, SAVOR…Reading can assist you with making rental arrangements. The final cost of rental equipment is subject to the selection of venue, specific menu and beverage service. Delivery charges may apply and are subject to venue accessibility.
It is the client’s responsibility that SAVOR…Reading Catering by SMG has timely access to the catering site. These details should be discussed at the time of booking. In the event that we are unable to enter the site at the agreed date(s) and time(s), additional costs will be incurred and will be added to the final bill.
For the health and safety of your guests, temperature sensitive foods must remain with SAVOR…Reading at the end of your event for proper disposal. Non-sensitive foods can be packaged for you, should you desire. This is a non-negotiable policy.
Many venues charge an additional fee that is usually a percentage of food and beverage sales, a flat fee or a price per person. Any such fees will be the responsibility of the client and not SAVOR…Reading Catering by SMG.
Our minimum for full service off premise catering is $750 Monday through Thursday and $1500 Friday through Sunday. This amount does not include delivery charges and mileage, rentals, labor or any additional charges.
Drop Off Service
All food will be delivered in disposable containers and will include plastic plates, cups, service ware and disposable napkins as well as all appropriate condiments.
Drop off delivery fee is $50 and additional mileage charges may apply. Setup charges begin at $75.
China and silverware service is not available for drop off service
Menu prices do not include sales tax or service charge
Minimum order for drop off service is $100.
Pick Up Service
Orders can be picked up at our catering kitchen, located in the Sovereign Center, at a mutually agreed upon date and time.
Food will be packaged in disposable containers and will include plastic plates, cups, service ware and disposable napkins as well as all appropriate condiments.
There is no minimum order.
Menu prices do not include sales tax and service charge.
There is no additional charge for pick up service.
Deposits & Guarantees
A $250 deposit is required to hold a date. This will be non refundable if you cancel within 30 days of the hold date.
A 50% deposit and a signed contract on the event are required when the menu is finalized. This will be non refundable should the event or catering services be cancelled within 14 days of the event.
A final guest count is needed 7 days before the event. This is the guaranteed number we will use to prepare and charge for your event. If we do not receive a final count we will use the original estimated count plus a 15% charge. Once the final count is received, it may not be reduced.
Payment in full is required before or upon delivery and before the start of service. Additions, replenishments and any additional labor charges will be invoiced separately upon completion of the function. SAVOR…Reading Catering by SMG accepts cash, check, Master Card, Visa or American Express.
Alcohol
SAVOR…Reading Catering by SMG does not hold an off premise liquor license. We can arrange to provide bartenders and assist you with arranging an order for your function, but all alcohol must be paid for by the client. Our staff is not permitted to purchase, receive or transport alcohol; this is also the responsibility of the client.
The client shall obtain all insurances, including without limitation, liquor liability insurance with a minimum single limit liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence. SAVOR…Reading Catering by SMG shall be an additional insured on the policy for any liability it may suffer because of its involvement with the client’s event. Client shall provide SAVOR…Reading with a certificate of such coverage.
There is a $50 bar setup fee per bar and a $2 per person fee which paper products, ice, garnishes and mixers.
SAVOR…Reading Catering by SMG reserves the right to monitor and stop alcohol service if necessary.
All SAVOR…Reading bartenders are RAMP and/or TIPS certified.
Staffing
Staff is billed by the hour, portal to portal, based on a four hour minimum per staff person. Upon selection of the venue, menu, approximate number of guests and approximate hours of the function, we will be happy to estimate a labor charge. Final billing, however, will be based on actual portal to portal. We reserve the right to require two staff members for difficult load in and parking situations. Hourly staff rates are as follows:
Event Captain: $16 per hour
Server: $14 per hour
Bartender: $14 per hour
Action Station Chef: $18 per hour
